This morning the EP doc came in and tested Barb’s heart function without the external pacemaker. And her heart is beating on its own!!! The external pacemaker is now set on low so if her heart rate drops it will kick in. But for the last hour it’s been good. They will monitor her now to make sure the positive trend continues. They haven’t ruled out a pacemaker implant, but today she doesn’t need one. The mood is cautiously hopeful.
